For undergraduate and independent students seeking a full academic year study abroad experience, the LdM Academic Year Program allows for a deep awareness and understanding of Italian culture and language. Students may choose from over 400 courses for their plan of study.
Academic Year students may also decide to experience two different Italian regions and cultures, studying at one LdM campus for the fall semester and in another for the spring semester.
LdM’s Academic Year Program gives students the flexibility to choose a course of study by selecting and combine classes from four academic areas:
Academic Year Programs are offered to internationally qualified students at LdM. Programs vary according to students' linguistic level and competence in Italian and are designed to allow students with different backgrounds and academic preferences to choose how much time they want to spend developing their Italian language skills.
Beyond the compulsory course of study in Italian language, students at LdM are free to choose a combination of courses from LdM's extensive course schedule, all of which are taught in English. In this way, students can develop a course of study that best meets their needs and preferences.
At each LdM campus in Florence, Rome and Tuscania, there is broad coverage of numerous disciplines and individualized programs tailored to student interests at the undergraduate and graduate
levels. Depending on the campus site's offerings, students can combine Art and Design courses with courses in the Humanities, Social Sciences, Business, Economics, Political Science, and the
Note that Italian Language is mandatory in the Academic Year Program. All courses, except Italian Language courses, are taught in English. Attendance is mandatory.
